St Chad's Catholic Primary School

At St Chad's we are committed to ensuring our students achieve their full potential. You can find key information about our assessment results, including:

• Phonics Screening Check – Taken in Year 1, this assessment measures children’s ability to decode words using phonics. These are statutory tests which are taken at the end of May.
• Key Stage 1 (KS1) Results – These tests assess students’ progress in reading, writing, and maths at the end of Year 2.  These are now non-statutory.  These tests are used to benchmark where children are at the end of Key Stage 1 and to measure progress.
• Key Stage 2 (KS2) Results – Taken at the end of Year 6, these national tests evaluate children's achievements in English (reading, writing, grammar, punctuation, and spelling) and mathematics.  These are statutory Tests and are taken at the same time by all Year 6 pupils across the country.
